My 4 Favorite Vermont Wedding Venues as a Vermont Wedding Photographer

Do you ever see those venues where you just automatically know it’s a soul match? Yeah, that’s how it feels walking into these Vermont wedding venues.

As a Vermont wedding photographer, I know that Vermont has a lot to offer: mountains that are so gorgeous they make you want to cry, water views that feel like a breezy coastal summer, rustic charm that you can’t find just anywhere, and I love it all SO much! When all of that is brought to Vermont’s wedding venues, too, though… It can make it really hard to choose where to say β€œI do.” Don’t worry, though. I’ve compiled a list of four wedding venues that bring the best of Vermont, and your wedding planning is about to get a lot easier.

4 Vermont Wedding Venues I’m Obsessed With

Without further ado, here are four Vermont wedding venues that I am forever in love with, and everything to know about each of them:

Mountain Top Resort

Okay, if you’re dreaming of mountain and lake views all in one… Don’t overlook Mountain Top Resort in Chittenden. It’s one of those spaces where classy meets cozy under a gorgeous setting of string lights, and it’s so easy to picture yourself connecting with your favorite people all weekend long.

Already in love? Honestly… Same. Here’s what you need to know about Mountain Top Resort:

  • Maximum guest capacity: 250, which isn’t too big, but isn’t too small either.

  • Indoor and outdoor venues: Yes! You get your choice of mountain backdrops, barn vibes, and waterfront views.

  • On-site accommodations: Yes, for up to 290. Hellooo, wedding weekend.

  • Getting-ready suites on site: Yep, so no day-of transportation stress.

  • All-inclusive packages: Yes, so planning here? A breeze.

Donna and Cameron tied the knot here, and I couldn’t have loved it more. The whole weekend felt incredibly comfortable, effortless, and lived-in, and the views were something right out of a storybook. We love!

Farm Road Estate

Dover, VT brings Farm Road Estate, which is one of those Vermont wedding venues where you walk in and exhale a little, because you just know.

Farm Road Estate is one of those where you’re totally secluded and far away from the whole rest of the world, so that it’s just you and your people all weekend long. Those are honestly my favorite kinds of venues, because every moment gets to feel really intentional.

If you’re dreaming of a weekend spent actually living (in the gardens, in front of the ponds, and in the cozy indoor spaces), here’s everything to know about Farm Road Estate:

  • Maximum guest capacity: 300, so if you want a party, this is the place.

  • Indoor and outdoor Venues: Yes, Farm Road Estate has barns, ponds, and woods that each make such a beautiful backdrop.

  • On-site accommodations: Yep! There are enough spots for your wedding party or your family, and I always recommend staying on-site here. It’s adorable!

  • Getting-ready suites: Yeah, they thought of everything.

  • All-inclusive packages: Yes, and the farm-to-table food is actually insane.

Jill and Scott’s wedding here was exactly how I picture a classic Farm Road Estate wedding: full of fun, full of laughter, full of love. A weekend spent waltzing around the property with champagne in hand, and ending with the couple slow-dancing surrounded by candlelight.

The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch

The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch is in Cambridge, VT, and if you love classic Vermont mountain views, you won’t want to miss it. The ceremony field with the mountain backdrop is something out of a dream, and that’s not even to mention the adorable barn that makes for a super charming reception space.

Gorgeous views + a rustic atmosphere = your dream wedding venue?? Here’s what to know:

  • Maximum guest capacity: 200, which is a little bit smaller than the other two, but it works so well at this Vermont wedding venue.

  • Indoor and outdoor venues: Yep, and they’re all stunning

  • On-site accommodations: No, but there are a ton of adorable inns nearby!

  • Getting-ready suites: Yes, and they’re actually adorable.

  • All-inclusive packages: Yes, and the staff is incredible!

Meghan and John’s wedding here was a perfect fit for a venue like this. The way their fall color palette complemented the venue was incredible, and don’t even get me started on their ceremony setup. It was an actual dream!

Sugarbush Inn

Okay, Sugarbush Inn is the sweetest little place you’ll ever see. It’s a ski resort up in Warren, but a spot that’s gorgeous and welcoming year-round. You’ll be tucked in by adorable rustic architecture all weekend long, and the vibes are just really, really cozy.

If you want that kind of charm on your wedding day, here are the details you need:

  • Maximum guest capacity: 300, so don’t worry about cutting down the guest list.

  • Indoor and outdoor venues: Yeah, and everything from the ski lifts to the indoor lodge is so cute!

  • On-site accommodations: Yes, with plenty of room for all your favorite people to stay.

  • Getting-ready suites: Yep!

  • All-inclusive packages: Yes, they make it so easy here.

Amber and Mitch had a beautiful weekend at Sugarbush Inn. The rain somehow added to the charm and created a laidback, easygoing, really romantic wedding for the two of them, and I couldn’t have loved it more if I tried.

How to Choose Your Vermont Wedding Venue

Stuck between these? I get it. I honestly would be too.

My top tip for choosing your Vermont wedding venue (as a Vermont wedding photographer who sees couples in their dream spaces all the time) is to pick what feels like you

If the two of you are a touch more elegant but still super down to earth, Mountain Top Resort is the one for you.

If your main priority for the day is connection and focusing on all your favorite people, somewhere like Farm Road Estate is perfect for you.

Want rustic outdoor vibes with classic Vermont energy? That’s The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch.

And if something a little more unique and a little more romantic is calling your name, Sugarbush Inn is yours.

As your Vermont wedding photographer, I know that I’m always here to get to know you, walk you through days at each of these venues, and help you choose the one that feels the most like you.
